WEEK 4: 10/6 - 10/12
I started my week off with a lot more screen time on Sunday than usual because of General Conference. My family ate dinner outside on Sunday and we were talking about how General Conference is great, but it is a lot of sitting and watching tv and it felt very nice to get outside and sit in the fresh air. I had a very similar feeling as I was nannying this week and decided to take the kids on a walk after we had been inside all day. I had done about two hours of homework on my computer while the kids took a nap, and it felt amazing to get outside and take a break from my computer screen. Even though General Conference and homework are not bad, they are still media, and this week showed me how consuming a lot of media/watching a screen for a long time can affect my outlook on life.
I love that you still got outside and enjoyed the fresh air. Sometimes after being on a screen or media for a while that is not people's first thought. I also think now is such a beneficial time to go outside because it is still nice. Come winter it will be harder to do that but I love what you did!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that when we watch screens for a long time it can be nice to get some fresh air or move our bodies. It's interesting how I find myself not wanting to initially go outside or move my body after screen time, but after I do, I always feel so much better. On Saturday night after all the sessions of general conference, I went and played sand volleyball, and it was so nice to be outside and move around! When able, I want to limit my screen time because I see a difference in my mood when I do.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are enjoying the beautiful nature and going outside to take breaks! I really want to be better at this!
ReplyDeleteI love how getting fresh air and being outside can be such a big help when you are inside doing homework or watching conference. I love that you got to be outside with the kids that you nanny for! I bet they also loved getting some outside time in too!
