WEEK 1: 9/15 - 9/21
This week I decided to reflect on how long I spent watching tv/movies. I didn't think about my consumption during the week, but I had a reminder set on my phone for the end of the week. I only spent about an hour and a half watching shows this week. All of my tv time came from two trips at the gym watching a show while I walk on the treadmill. I had an abnormally busy week last week so that definitely affected my media use. I usually watch a show for 20-30 minutes before I go to bed, but because I was so busy last week, I was too tired to turn a show on before I fell asleep. It would be interesting to reflect on this again when I have a week with more free time and see how my tv/movie time differs.
Hi! This was so interesting to read! I definitely agree, the busier I am, the less media I consume! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI was actually thinking about a similar thing this past week. When busy with school and work, I find that I sometimes go weeks or months at a time without sitting down to read a book for fun. This struck me as interesting because I love to read and actively seek it out most of the time. I guess, like you said, that being so busy leaves less energy or even desire for entertainment.
ReplyDeleteThe observation that you feel like you use less media when you are busy is very apt and something I can definitely relate to! I've found that when I'm careful with my schedule and planning, I will end up spending less time trying to entertain myself with my phone or the TV.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you set a reminder to reflect on your TV and movie time—it’s such a simple but effective way to stay mindful about media use. It’s great that you were able to fit your shows into your gym routine, combining entertainment with staying active. Busy weeks can definitely change our habits, and it’s cool that you’re curious about how a less hectic week might look. Being intentional about media is such a good way to stay in control of your time!
